![]() ![]() What you're experiencing isn't really normal.PlayStation Now lets players stream every game in its catalog to PS4 or PC, but only 300 of its over 800 games can be downloaded to PS4 and PS5. Just try to pick videos created since they upgraded to 1080p (a year ago). There's plenty of footage captured from PS Now and you might find it interesting to compare their experience with yours. It probably wouldn't hurt to watch some Youtube videos and stuff, too. You can do some basic network troubleshooting to see if there's perhaps some way to improve your latency, but the most likely scenario leaves you with nothing you can really do except wait and hope for additional data centers or improvements to Internet connectivity in general. The other services seem to do a much better job in this regard. I'd have to restart the stream to get it restored to optimal quality. I don't stream often at all, but I do recall that if I had a network hiccup (eg, huge downloads at the same time) the stream would lower its bitrate to compensate but it would not ever recover. And GFN might also triple PS Now's bandwidth for a 1080p stream that's probably using the same codec.įinally, resiliency. Stadia might hit 35Mb/s, despite using a vastly superior codec. IIRC, PS Now will rarely or possibly never break about 13Mb/s. The PS3 stuff caps out at 720p and probably has external stream encoders that add some lag. The second most-likely cause is the presence of ancient games. It doesn't matter how much bandwidth your ISP claims to be giving you if you're connecting to a very distant server. The number one most-likely issue is distance from the server.
